30 Million Turkish Lira ORKÖY support allocated to Muğla and Aydın

The support efforts for forest villagers continue within the scope of ORKÖY (Forest Village Development) projects at the Muğla Regional Directorate of Forestry.

In the provinces of Muğla and Aydın, a total of 30 million Turkish Lira in ORKÖY (Forest Village Development) support was provided to forest villagers in the fields of dairy cattle farming, dairy sheep farming, tractors, and modern beekeeping as part of the 2023 ORKÖY support program.

Salim Karabulut, the Regional Director of Forestry in Muğla, stated that they provide ORKÖY credit support to support the social and economic development of the residents in forest villages. He mentioned that ORKÖY credits are provided with 20% grant and the remaining 80% as interest-free repayments.

Under the coordination of the ORKÖY Branch Directorate of Muğla Regional Directorate of Forestry, support was provided to 69 families in Muğla with a total of 15 million 230 thousand Turkish Lira, and to 148 families in Aydın with a total of 15 million Turkish Lira in ORKÖY credit support. Thus, a total of 30 million 230 thousand Turkish Lira in ORKÖY credit support was provided to 217 families in Muğla and Aydın provinces combined.

The distribution of ORKÖY support in Muğla and Aydın provinces, according to the areas and quantities, is as follows:

In Aydın province, 137 families and in Muğla province, 24 families received credit support in the field of dairy cattle farming, with each family receiving support for 2 heads, totaling 161 families.

In Aydın province, 10 families and in Muğla province, 17 families received credit support in the field of modern beekeeping, with each family receiving support for 30 hives, totaling 27 families.

In Muğla province, 21 families and in Aydın province, 1 family received tractor credit support, with each family receiving support for 1 tractor, totaling 22 families. In Muğla, 6 families received support for dairy sheep farming with 30 heads each, and 1 family received a timber hauling drum for use in production activities.
