In the Alemşahlı neighborhood of Sarıgöl district in Manisa, Mehmet Kahveci, who farms on a two-decare plot, has grown pumpkins to distribute to friends and family. The pumpkins, which are all from local seeds and weigh between 30 and 70 kilograms each, are drawing attention with their vibrant orange color.
Mehmet Kahveci explained that the pumpkins require plenty of water and that he has been consistently irrigating them. "This year, I planted pumpkins on a two-decare area using seeds obtained from a specific source. Pumpkins love water. Despite the extreme heat, I made sure they had enough water at night. The yield has been good. I grew these pumpkins to share with neighbors and friends. I plan to display them at the grape harvest and grape festival in September," he said.
