In collaboration with the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality and the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, fruit tree saplings are being distributed to producers with a hundred percent grant as part of the 'Developing Fruit Growing in Balıkesir' project.
In the project where 100,000 walnut and 50,000 almond saplings will be distributed across 20 districts, distributions began from Sındırgı.
Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, which has provided support of over 350 million lira to producers relying on agriculture and animal husbandry for their livelihoods in the past five years, continues to support them, aiming to increase their added value and improve working conditions. Balıkesir, with its unique nature, fertile lands, and pleasant climate, is highly suitable for fruit production. Within the framework of the 'Developing Fruit Growing in Balıkesir' project carried out in collaboration with the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Rural Services Department and the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, saplings are distributed with a 100% grant. The distribution of saplings, totaling 100,000 walnut and 50,000 almond saplings across the province, started from the Sındırgı district. Farmers expressed their gratitude to Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yücel Yılmaz for the sapling distribution, stating that with the help of the project, they will establish fruit orchards, increase their own income, and contribute to the city's economy.
