In order to improve beekeeping and protect bee health, a medicine distribution ceremony was held for 65 thousand hives to 786 beekeepers operating in Düzce within the framework of the Bee Pest Control Project.
Speaking at the medicine distribution ceremony held at Düzce Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Esra Uzun said, “Beekeeping is one of the important agricultural activities of our country. Thanks to beekeeping, valuable products such as honey, pollen, propolis and royal jelly are obtained and agricultural productivity is increased by ensuring the pollination of plants. Considering these benefits of beekeeping, our directorate continues to support our beekeepers. 9,500 medicines that we will distribute to 786 beekeepers operating in our city for 65 thousand hives are part of this project. Medicine plays a very important role in protecting bees from pests. “Bee pesticides should be used for an effective fight against a common and dangerous pest, especially the varroa mite.”
Düzce Deputy Ercan Öztürk, İGM President Fazlı Koç, Provincial Special Administration General Secretary Mehmet Hayri Şen, Düzce Beekeepers Association President Cafer Kaba, union presidents and beekeepers attended the drug distribution. The program ended with the distribution of medicines.
