ÇAYKUR announced that due to intense tea harvesting by producers leading to exceeding the daily capacity, a quota of 30 kilograms per decare will be implemented.

The General Directorate of Tea Enterprises (ÇAYKUR) had previously implemented a quota of 50 kilograms per decare on July 10 due to high levels of tea harvesting by producers. Following another surge in tea collection over a three-day period, ÇAYKUR has now reduced the quota to 30 kilograms per decare.

In a written statement, ÇAYKUR noted, “Our fresh tea purchases have been carried out freely for the past 18 days. All of our producers have started intensive tea harvesting to make use of the three-day holiday period. As of today, 12,000 tons of fresh tea have been purchased, and our purchasing locations are filled with fresh tea equivalent to one day’s capacity. To avoid compromising on quality, purchases will temporarily continue at 30 kilograms per decare.”

The statement also emphasized that producers should not rush and that the best place for tea to wait is the garden. It reassured producers that ÇAYKUR stands by them under any circumstances and advised them to trust only institutional statements and to obtain accurate information from their affiliated factories or our general directorate.
