Balıkesir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry distributed free compost to mushroom producer trainees studying at Karesi Public Education Center.
With the contribution of the Metropolitan Municipality Rural Services Department, 950 bags of compost and 470 bags of topsoil were distributed to 40 trainees who were successful in the mushroom cultivation courses carried out in cooperation with Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and Karesi Public Education Center and started production. Trainees who complete the training process will also be supplied with 150 more bags of medicinal and exotic mushroom compost at the end of the course.
Provincial Director Erkan Alkan touched upon the importance of the training given for the first time in Turkey, under the coordination of the Provincial Directorate, on medicinal, exotic and functional mushroom varieties such as cultivated mushrooms, lion's mane, turkey tail, maitake, reishi, shiitake, yellow oyster and pink oyster. He thanked Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality on behalf of the entrepreneurial producers for their support.
