The district of Koçarlı in Aydın, one of Turkey's important agricultural centers, maintains its leadership in quince production. With private sector investments in this field, Koçarlı has become the country's trade center for quince processing. The rich agricultural lands, favorable climate conditions, and local government policies supporting agriculture by the Koçarlı Municipality have contributed to making Koçarlı the hub for quince production. Quinces collected from various regions of Turkey, including the Aegean, Mediterranean, and Marmara regions, are brought to Koçarlı for processing. The fruits of processed quinces are presented as a significant nutritional source, while the valuable peels and cones, serving as valuable fuel, meet the energy needs of many businesses, contributing significantly to employment in the region.
Nedim Kaplan, the Mayor of Koçarlı, stated that quince has now become synonymous with Koçarlı. He emphasized the municipality's efforts to provide all kinds of support to investors in the region and expressed gratitude to those who contribute to the country's economy and create employment. Kaplan mentioned, "We are grateful to everyone who invests, contributes to the country's economy, and creates employment while processing the plant in the best possible way to meet consumers.
