The owner of the found cat was reached through the microchip.

Sufle, a British breed cat registered with a microchip application carried out by the Cumayeri District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry in accordance with the regulation for the identification and registration of cats, dogs, and ferrets, was found by an animal lover named Nagihan Turan 2 days after going missing. The microchip reader attached to the British breed cat, which was handed over to the Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, was used to identify the owner's information, and contact was made to return the cat to its owner. The pet owner Kazım Çetin expressed gratitude, stating, "Our cat ran away due to discomfort from other cats on the street, and we were very sad and searched everywhere. We reunited after two days. I thank Nagihan Hanım who found our cat and the officials at the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry who contacted us and returned our cat."

Our Provincial Director, Esra Uzun, stated, "With the microchip application and the Pet Registry System (PETVET), which has become mandatory with the Animal Protection Law in our country for the identification of pets, the animal's name, passport number, species, breed, sex, color, date of birth, owner's name, location (province, district, village/neighborhood), and emergency contact information are recorded. In addition, vaccination, change of ownership, lost pet, and operation information for the animal are also recorded. Thanks to the microchip technology, which serves as a digital identity for pets, lost animals' owners can be easily reached.
