A total of 27,734 hectares of land will be planted with sunflower and chickpea seeds, totaling 7.5 million Turkish Lira.
Amasya Governor Yılmaz Doruk emphasized the importance of increasing sunflower, which is a significant raw material for the food industry, and chickpea production, which is essential legumes for kitchens, in today's world with a growing population. He stated that it is crucial for Turkey to be among the countries that can self-sustain in the food sector. Governor Doruk wished farmers a productive production season and mentioned that the project also aims to bring fallow lands into agricultural production with correct practices and to use limited water resources most efficiently.
The program was attended by AK Party Amasya Deputy Hasan Çilez, Amasya Deputy Mayor Muammer Tufanoğlu, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Gürol Çetin, and other officials.
