In Gazipaşa district of Antalya, the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry conducted inspections by sampling vegetables at the entrance of Gazipaşa Wholesale Market as part of its efforts to prevent the contamination of food products with pesticides that pose a threat to human health.
Sampling procedures are ongoing within the framework of the pesticide inspection program initiated by the Gazipaşa District Directorate of Agriculture to preserve the natural balance and ensure the sustainability of plant production. As part of the efforts initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to prevent the contamination of food products with pesticides threatening human health, pesticide inspections conducted by the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry continued this week at Gazipaşa Wholesale Market.
In accordance with the draft regulation of the Ministry, pesticide inspections are conducted to prevent improper pesticide use in agricultural production areas. Samples are collected with witness statements, sent for analysis, and the results are recorded. Thus, in case of any non-compliance detected, follow-ups are conducted regarding the product, production area, and active substances, and necessary measures are taken.
