A First in the Planting of Local and National Seeds in Tokat's Pazar District
An important step has been taken in the planting of local and national seeds in Tokat's Pazar district. The wheat variety named 'Taner,' which was planted for the first time in the district, has pleased farmers. The harvest of the 'Taner' wheat, provided by the Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, was completed successfully after demonstration trials.
"We Want to Spread it in District Agriculture"
Speaking at the harvest, Emre Kapar, the District Director of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Pazar, said, "We are pleased with the planting of 'Taner,' one of our local and national wheat seeds. We are monitoring its phenological observations. Today, the harvest has taken place. We want to spread the planting of our local and national seeds in the agriculture of our district. Among the wheat varieties planted in our district, the 'Taner' wheat variety has a higher-than-average yield potential."
"This Will Reduce Dependence on Foreign Agriculture"
Producer Seyfi Yatkın stated, "I am very pleased with the planting of this local and national wheat variety. Despite the low seasonal rainfall and drought, we achieved a significant increase in yield. I want to make this 'Taner' variety available as seed for the local producers who will be planting grains. I believe this variety will become widespread in our district. With local and national seeds, agriculture should reduce dependence on foreign sources and focus on local production."
In the harvest process, which was carried out with a combine harvester control by technical personnel to prevent grain losses, a yield of 650 kilograms per decare was achieved.
