According to a statement from the municipality, the Rural Services Directorate of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts in rural neighborhoods to develop livestock, which is one of the city's significant sources of income. The Directorate is conducting maintenance and repair work on ponds in rural districts that were previously built but have deteriorated due to physical conditions.
Teams renew the dams of water ponds and clean up the soil deposited in the ponds to ensure more efficient water collection. They also raise the water levels of the ponds to facilitate better water retention. In addition to constructing ponds for animals' drinking water, the teams also build irrigation channels and conduct feasibility studies to enhance agricultural productivity.
The Metropolitan Municipality will continue its work in rural neighborhoods to support farmers.
