Ergün's statement on 'rice paddy prices'

Ferda Ergün, Chairman of the Terme Agricultural Chamber, stated that the rice paddy purchase price should be at least between 35 and 40 TL per kilogram.

Ergün explained that the Terme Agricultural Chamber has prepared a 2024 rice production cost report. "According to our findings, this year's production cost of rice has reached 27 TL per kilogram. The increase in input costs, such as fertilizers and pesticides, has placed a significant financial burden on producers. As producers, we are demanding that the price of rice be set at a minimum of 35-40 TL per kilogram to cover these costs."

Ergün emphasized that price uncertainty has a negative impact on producers and called on the government and relevant institutions to consider farmers' demands when setting prices.
