In Sivas, a record cereal harvest has been achieved, with 850,000 tons of wheat produced

Sivas has achieved great success in the 2024 grain harvest. Farmers produced approximately 850,000 tons of wheat from 2 million 470 thousand decares of land they planted. Significant yields were also obtained from crops such as sugar beets, potatoes, and sunflowers. Hacı Çetindağ, the President of the Sivas Agricultural Chamber, stated, "We will continue to increase our agricultural production to contribute to the national economy."

Increasing Yields Despite Challenges

Çetindağ noted that agricultural production has not declined despite drought and climate change, emphasizing the high quality of the wheat and the successful sugar beet production. With the 2024 harvest, Sivas stands out with 600,000 tons of table potatoes and 850,000 tons of sugar beets.
