Karacabey is becoming the center of seed production

In Karacabey, one of the cities that comes to mind first when agriculture and livestock are mentioned in Turkey, efforts are underway to expand agriculture-based industry.

Mayor Ali Özkan stated that they have started to reap the fruits of their efforts and investments in recent years under the 3T vision in the district, and he mentioned that Karacabey is becoming a center, especially in the seed industry. Mayor Ali Özkan met with representatives of a seed company that has invested in the district within this context. In these fruitful meetings, Mayor Özkan held discussions on agricultural investments with Sadettin Tezyener, the Branch Manager of Takii Seed Agriculture Company established in the district by the Japanese, Celalettin Öztürk and Muhammed Cabbaroğlu from CMC Seed Agriculture, and Metin Şahin on behalf of May Seed Agriculture.

"We said Karacabey will be the focal point of seed production, and with our initiatives, CMC, Rayel, and Takii seed companies have started production in Karacabey," said Mayor Ali Özkan. He continued, "Hopefully, MAY Seed Agriculture will also start the construction of a factory in Karacabey in the shortest time. Again, the mentioned companies will increase their investments. Investments in tomato paste and frozen food will become operational in our region. Currently, construction has begun for a potato chip factory where 400 of our fellow citizens will hopefully work for 12 months, and alternative products will come to the agenda."

Emphasizing that alternative agricultural products are also a good option for producers, Özkan stated that they will continue to provide all kinds of support to both industrialists and producers in all activities related to agriculture and production.

Mayor Ali Özkan mentioned that they are in constant contact with investors of this kind and expressed their pride in being a city that contributes to both local and regional development and adds value to the national economy by providing support to both producers and industrialists.

Özkan mentioned that the Japanese Takii Seed seed company, which opened last year in the district, started operations on a 60,000 m2 area and, within just one year, has contracted with 400 farmers for contractual agriculture throughout Bursa.

Tezyener, the Factory Manager of Takii Seed Agriculture Company, stated in the meeting that within the next 10 years, they plan to produce vegetable and flower seeds in 400,000 m2 of closed space and additionally, in 3,500 hectares of open space. He emphasized that at the end of 10 years, they will engage in contractual agriculture with over a thousand producers and expressed his thanks to Özkan for the support provided.
