Potato planting has begun in Diyarbakır

In Ergani district of Diyarbakır, a staple in kitchens, potato planting has begun. Ergani, which holds a significant position in Diyarbakır's potato production, sees farmers starting potato planting after completing preparations. Fields in the rural Ortayazı neighborhood are being prepared for planting potatoes across approximately one thousand acres of land.

Potatoes planted in the district in March are harvested between April and July. Once harvested, potatoes are exported to various regions of the country, while contributing to the economy through chip factories.
