Purchases of sumalık grapes have started in Sarıgöl

Sümalık (wine-making) grapes are obtained from the remaining grapes after the harvest of seedless Sultaniye grapes and from selected grapes.

Purchases of sumalık grapes have started in the Sarıgöl district of Manisa. Due to the new start of the harvest season and the lack of announcement of grape prices, the purchase of sumalık grapes is progressing slowly, according to sumalık grape buyers. They noted, 'This year, since the government has not yet announced the prices for dried grapes, producers are also delaying the selection of grapes from their vineyards. This situation affects the amount of grapes available to us. We expect activity in the purchases of sumalık grapes to begin once the prices are announced.'

It has been learned that the price of sumalık grapes in Sarıgöl is 16 TL per kilogram.
