The famous pumpkin has hit the shelves

The butternut squash, finding buyers at 15 lira per kilogram, is especially sought after by those who appreciate its taste.

Known as 'Düzce squash,' the fame of the butternut squash is increasing day by day. Adding flavor to various products such as pumpkin dessert, compote, and tiramisu, the butternut squash receives attention not only in the region where it grows but also from almost every part of Turkey.

Producer Fikret Algün said, 'We plant the squash in April and start harvesting it 4-5 months later. I find it easy because I am used to it. I do this job every year.'

Algün, who mentioned that they couldn't get a good yield from the squash this year, stated, 'There were two floods. Unfortunately, we couldn't achieve the desired yield from the product. Currently, we sell it for 15 lira per kilogram.'
