The search for stability in apricot prices continues in Malatya

In Malatya, which holds the world leadership in dried apricot production, the harvest continues. Producers have noted a significant decline in product prices compared to the previous year and are hoping for price stability.

Malatya, which produces 85% of the world's dried apricots, continues its harvest of apricots, considered the driving force of the local economy. Producers, demanding price stability, pointed out the significant decline in product prices compared to the previous year.

In a program attended by Yunus Kılıç, the Chairman of the Malatya Chamber of Agriculture Coordination Board in Akçadağ district, there was also a request for the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) to make purchases for the new season. It was emphasized that the decline in dried apricot prices during the harvest period has harmed farmers. Kılıç stated that apricots are not receiving the value they deserve and expressed their hope that the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) would make purchases for the new season. He also reminded that producers continued production despite the earthquake and called for support for apricots produced under difficult conditions.
