Efforts to add value to buffalo yogurt have been initiated
In Zonguldak, efforts to add value to the geographically indicated buffalo yogurt have been initiated.
In a meeting held at the Zonguldak Kaymakamlık meeting hall, the Batı Karadeniz Development Agency (BAKKA) and the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry discussed initiatives to add value to the district’s unique geographically indicated buffalo yogurt. The meeting was chaired by Kaymakam Adem Kaya.
The meeting covered planned projects related to the production and marketing of buffalo yogurt, as well as the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants and agricultural products suited to the district. It was also noted that efforts have been started to ensure the district benefits maximally from the technical support and Social Development Support Program (SOGEP) projects provided by the Batı Karadeniz Development Agency.
These projects are seen as significant steps toward increasing Zonguldak’s agricultural potential and adding value to local products. Kaymakam Adem Kaya expressed that such projects would greatly contribute to the region’s economic development.
