5 tons of milk is being produced daily
Due to being a purebred operation, it can sell raw milk at the retail level.
Esra Uzun, the Director of Agriculture and Forestry in Düzce, visited a modern dairy farm benefiting from rural development investments in Alacamescit Village of Çilimli District. Esra Uzun received information about the large-scale enterprise, which demonstrates exemplary dairy farming, from Aydın Koca, the District Director of Agriculture and Forestry in Çilimli, and the business representatives.
Esra Uzun, emphasizing the significant role of dairy cattle farms in Düzce, stated, "While the main purpose of the dairy farm is milk production, the use of the female animal material born with breeding facilities and the male animal material born with breeding facilities as feed material increases the importance of these farms. In our province, in order to achieve high efficiency, the animals with improved breeding characteristics are raised and fed with the most advanced methods in the exemplary enterprise, where there are 665 head of cattle, of which 225 are milked, and 5 tons of milk are produced daily. By providing raw materials to the milk and dairy products industry, it contributes to the development of our region, increases employment, and serves as an important economic function, setting an example for other breeders."
Purebred Operation
Uzun, pointing out that the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry provides significant support to producing enterprises, said, "Our Ministry provides support to the dairy cattle enterprise, such as milk, purebred operation, calf support, and also provides fixed milking unit support within the scope of supporting rural development investments economically. With the automatic milking units in the enterprises, data such as milk yield per animal and enterprise, milk contents are recorded in our e-breeding system, thus enabling the use of more efficient animals in breeding. At the same time, the enterprise, which has the feature of being the largest purebred operation in our province, supports disease-free operations applied by our Ministry, besides protecting animal health, the production of quality and healthy milk constitutes the basis for our country's milk sector to export milk and dairy products to the European Union. The sale of raw milk at the retail level can only be done by purebred operations; the milk of other enterprises can be allowed for sale after being collected and processed in milk processing facilities. At the same time, the milk of purebred operations receives more support than other milks."
