Grain harvest has begun
In the Bandırma district of Balıkesir, the harvest of grains sown on 6,472 decares of land at the Bandırma Animal Breeding Research Institute has begun.
Dr. Mustafa Altuğ Atalay, General Director of Agricultural Research and Policies, visited the institute to review the projects and attended the grain harvest ceremony. During the event, Dr. Atalay drove a combine harvester and carried out the first harvest.
Dr. Atalay, who emphasizes genetic research, also gathered detailed information on the widespread application of biotechnological practices in the field. The harvest kickoff ceremony took place in an area where 5,517 decares of wheat and 955 decares of barley were planted.
