Kızılırmak Delta: Bird Paradise
The town, which is a "Bird Paradise", is the largest wetland area of the Kızılırmak Delta on the Black Sea coast that has preserved its natural characteristics. The coexistence of living environments such as sea, river, lake, dune, reeds, swamp, forest and agricultural areas in a healthy ecosystem provides biological richness and diversity to the "Bafra Bird Paradise". Of the 420 bird species found in Turkey, 340 bird species have been identified in the delta so far, and 140 of these species breed in this area. Out of 24 endangered bird species all over the world, 15 of them have been detected in the delta. Of these, Büyük Deniz Düdükçünü, Kuzey İncikuşu, Küçük Kirazkuşu and Ak kirazkuşu have been seen only in the Kızılırmak Delta for the last 20 years. Some of the other endangered bird species seen in the "Bafra Bird Paradise" are; Tepeli Pelikan, Cüce Karabatak, Alboyunlu Kaz, Dikkuyruk, Şah Kartal, Deniz Kartalı, Küçük Kertenez, Tarda. These include Deniz Kartalı, Tepeli Pelikan, Kara Leylek, Leylek, Turna, Balıkçıl, Ördek Yağmurcan and Ötücü Kuş are located in Passeriformes. The shelter of 100,000 waterfowl is the best indicator of the delta's richness in nutrients and fauna.
There are 1 Visitor Center, 1 Management Center and 2 Bird Watching Towers in the Kızılırmak Delta Bird Sanctuary. People visiting the delta for sightseeing; In order to obtain information about the delta, there are areas such as the Image Viewing Center, the Exhibition Hall, and the sales section where products specific to the region are promoted in the Visitor Center building. The images taken with four cameras placed in different parts of the delta in the image monitoring center can be watched by the visitors and curious bird watchers can watch in the Bird Watching towers.
