In Erzincan, hail has affected vegetables and fruits

In Erzincan, hailstones the size of walnuts caused damage to vegetable and fruit gardens. Heavy rain, which included hail, affected the Eastern Anatolia Region. In the Üzümlü district of Erzincan, hail that fell for about half an hour caused damage in some villages.

The hail negatively impacted life in Erzincan. The hailstorm, which occurred in an area under a weather warning from the Meteorological 12th Regional Directorate, covered some villages in white. The sudden and intense hailstorm that lasted for half an hour caused considerable distress for the villagers. In some villages in Erzincan, trees and cultivated lands were damaged just before the harvest time. After the rain stopped, life in the villages began to return to normal, but the extent of the damage became apparent when villagers went to their fields. Even after some time had passed, it was observed that hailstones in certain areas had not yet melted.

In the Üzümlü district, hailstones the size of walnuts damaged agricultural lands and fruit trees. The hail affected cultivated lands and vineyards in the villages of Bayırbağ, Karakaya, and Pişkidağ in Üzümlü.
